  • "This camp was a great experience for our whole family. My son could not wait to get to camp each day. The instructors were so thoughtful and encouraging, he completed more than he expected and left camp with a deep sense of accomplishment. We loved every minute of it. ... He told me it was his best camp experience ever."

    - Dawn P. of California, about her son's

    Computer Programming Camp experience

"I loved that my daughter embraced her tech-math side without fear of being "too smart." She's a social butterfly but the structure of the camp made her dig a little deeper..... she learned a lot about her abilities.  Loved it! You experienced my daughter differently... it was eye-opening for me to receive your feedback.  I'm printing out your last email and hanging it by her desk as an inspirational reminder!"

    - Monica W. of New Jersey, about her daughter's

    Computer Programming Camp experience

  • Check out our work with the

    Martha's Vineyard Public Schools System.

Students in Grades 4-8 developed a

3D Video Game with an advanced spatial controller, and were recognized among top entrants as the youngest participants in the world in a contest against professional and amateur developers!

    Congratulations, "School House Chop" Team!!

HOW

Step by step instruction on a great platform

Learn core concepts through doing...

Making the Robot work, feature by feature!

Experimentation to push boundaries, learn new skills!

WHAT WE'LL GET DONE

We’ll try to cover this list and more...

1) Basics of Electronics &

Micro-controllers

2) Robot Construction

3) Variables, Loops, Conditionals, Related Code

4) Movement Algorithms,

Sensors Inputs

5) Obstacle Course and Robot Racing

WHY WE DO IT

Since inception, ChaoticCoders.org has provided technology / maker education and community service opportunities for many local Martha's Vineyard and summer students, and has raised thousands of dollars for local schools and non-profits, particularly for STEAM enrichment.

WHY YOU SHOULD DO IT

Computer science and robotics are impacting society at all levels.  The basics are very fun to learn!

We'll use a super platform for learning fundamentals of electronics, coding and robotics.  Students will physically build their robots from component kits.  Next, we'll program via an enhanced version of Scratch, and see that code translated into the "C" language for Arduino micro-controllers.

Students will build an obstacle course, and race their friends, and then can experiment with different sensors, movements, designs, etc.

Build and remotely control your own robot!

HOW MUCH

Fees = $500

Discounts available for

Island students

A portion of the proceeds & equipment will benefit the

West Tisbury School.

Please Note:

Economics should NOT be a reason an inspired potential programmer does not participate.

If an issue, please contact us and we'll work something out.
